Students from Marburn Academy Personal Finance Class visited Haydocy Buick GMS today for a
tour of the facility and to learn more about the process of buying a car and to
see for themselves just what happens daily in a busy, full service automotive dealership.
The class is made up of 1 freshman, 2 sophomores, 2 juniors
and 4 seniors. Instructors Susan Schenk and Beth Weakley cover all phases of
personal finance to help the student prepare themselves for adult life.
Sales Consultant Mike Brown provided information on new and
used car buying, service, dealership layout, and an overview of some of the
many careers available in the automotive industry. Business Director Aaron
Jones gave the students insight into what is required to buy a car from the financial
side, importance of establishing and maintaining good credit, good business
practices and consumer ”buying safety”.
For 25 years, the Marburn Academy has provided education for
gifted and special learning needs children K 12.
