Flood members will provide cookies and bottles of water, napkins, etc. Large coffee pots on the premise-we will provide the coffee.
At this time, our speakers include: Ben Gelber, Meteorologist, WCMH TV; Bruce Warner, Franklinton Historical Society, who will speak on the flood’s impact on that area’s railroads; Gary Carter, Historian, Central Ohio Psychiatric Hospital, retired, who will talk about the hospital receiving flood refugees and the typhoid epidemic that resulted; representatives from the Columbus Division of Fire, the Franklin County Engineer’s Office, and Columbus Division of Sewers and Drains who will speak about who makes the decision to open the flood gates if such an event would ever occur again. State Representative Mike Curtin will also be present to present a special proclamation to the Hilltop Historical Society.
