West Broad Street Open for Business
Southwest I-270 Project Update
As promised, Central Ohio drivers will be travelling on brand new pavement on seven miles of I-270 on the west side before November 1. ODOT’s $80 million project is almost complete.
The west side project rebuilt every lane of I- 270 from US 62 to Roberts Road, widened 11 bridges and reconstructed the entrance and exit ramps at Georgesville Road, Broad St. and I-70. This was the first major rehabilitation of this section of I-270 since it was constructed more than 50 years ago. In order to get motorists on the new pavement and in their final traffic pattern, there will be significant impacts to traffic for the next two weeks, but only during the overnight hours. Seven miles of concrete barrier and cross over traffic patterns have to be removed. Here is how traffic will be impacted for the first week. Remember, all work is weather dependent and can change without prior notification.
Note: There will still be one lane closed in each direction between Broad Street and US 62 while crews finish removing the cross-overs. All lanes are expected to be open by November 1. (ODOT)
